A teenage girl from Peru recounted her terrifying encounter with “7-foot-tall aliens” who allegedly tried to kidnap her.

The 15-year-old girl from a remote region of Peru in the Amazonian forest shared her traumatizing experience with a documentary crew.

However, the Peruvian authorities said investigations revealed that the kidnappers were not extraterrestrials but members of a criminal cartel who mined gold illegally in the region.

According to the authorities, the miners tried to scare villagers away from the sites of their illegal operations by pretending to be “aliens” or mythological creatures.

However, it was not clear why they tried to kidnap the teenage girl.

Villagers lived in fear of alleged “face-peeling aliens”

Paranormal Papers reported in August that Peruvian police said they were investigating complaints by Ikitu villagers from the remote northeastern regions that 7-foot-tall “face-peeling” cryptids were terrorizing their communities.

The Ikitu tribal communities are native to the sparsely populated rural districts of the Alto Nanay basin in the Maynas Province of Loreto, along the country’s borders with Brazil, Columbia, and Ecuador.

Masked flying “aliens” in body armor terrorized villagers

The Daily Mail reported that a girl, identified as Talia (not her real name), claimed that two 7-foot-tall creatures attacked her.

She described the creatures as very tall. The aliens had masked faces and evil-looking yellow or green eyes. They had hardened outer shells resembling an exoskeleton or body armor.

They carried a gadget on their back resembling a “jetpack.” They activated the jetpack by pressing a button on their calf-high boots.

The jetpacks allowed them to fly in the air, the villagers said.

Flying “aliens” tried to kidnap 15-year-old Talia

Talia was picking tangerines in her family’s garden around 6 p.m. on July 29 when two humanoid creatures in armor landed from above and attacked her.

Members of her family and neighbors reportedly witnessed the terrifying struggle that ensued and called for help.

The aliens tried to take her away, but she resisted. One of them rubbed a strange substance on her face. They also used a syringe to inject a burning substance into her nose.

Talia screamed, kicked, and fought back against her assailants. The taller one pulled out a stick with a sharp edge and used it to inflict cut injuries to her neck.

They eventually gave up trying to kidnap her. They flew away on wheeled platforms after Talia attempted to rip the mask off the face of the taller of her “alien” attackers.

She recalled that the one she tried to unmask spoke Spanish with a “gringo” (North American foreigner) accent.

Talia received treatment at the hospital. The incident traumatized her, and the doctors referred her to a psychologist.

Villagers believed attackers were mythical “face-peeling” cryptids

The villagers believed the attackers were mythical cryptids known in Peruvian mythology as Los Pelacaras or “face-peelers.”

According to Peruvian folklore, “face-peelers” are malevolent cryptids from another dimension that attack humans and peel their faces.

They feed on flesh peeled from human faces and gorge on the body fat and internal organs of their victims.

Cartels making huge profits from illegal gold mining

However, police investigators said the attackers were not “face-peeling” aliens. They were members of an illegal gold mining cartel that adopted high-tech devices for their jungle operations.

The Amazon forest region of northeastern Peru is gold-rich, and criminal cartels that previously engaged in drug trafficking reportedly switched to more highly profitable gold-mining operations.
