Congressman Mike Gallagher listed competing theories about the nature and origin of UFOs during an appearance on the Pat McAfee show.

According to the representative for Wisconsin, other theories of UFO and alien origins besides the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis include the Time Traveler or Terminator, Ancient Civilization or Silurian, Transformers, and the Adversarial Nation Hypotheses.

Gallagher listed the various hypotheses while discussing new developments after UFO whistleblower David Grusch alleged that the government ran an alien UFO retrieval program for years. He claimed experts have worked on reverse engineering alien technology recovered from crash sites.

Gallagher also discussed media reports that the House Oversight Committee and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence are investigating the UFO whistleblower allegations.

Time Traveller or Terminator hypothesis

Gallagher mentioned multiple alternative theories about alien and UFO sightings, including a sci-fi-based theory that aliens are time travelers from the future.

The theory takes inspiration from the 1984 movie The Terminator, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the futuristic cyborg assassin and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor.

Ancient Civilization or Silurian Hypothesis

He also mentioned a theory that aliens and UFO sightings might be due to an ancient civilization that preceded humans. The alleged ancient civilization has been hiding from humans but is now “suddenly showing itself.”

The Ancient Civilization Hypothesis is also known as the Silurian Hypothesis.

The term Silurian comes from the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who. The series featured an advanced ancient civilization called Silurian that existed before human civilization.

Proponents of the Silurian Hypothesis, such as Adam Frank and Gavin Schmidt (2018), speculated about how we might be able to detect the presence of advanced technological civilizations in the geological records.

The Transformers Hypothesis

The panel also mentioned the Transformers Hypothesis, which derived inspiration from the Transformers franchise.

The franchise features machines that undergo a spontaneous transformation of their mechanical form and function.

The Transformers Hypothesis of aliens and UFOs proposes that aliens are among us but can conceal or camouflage their presence by assuming various forms or disguises.

The Adversarial Nation Hypothesis

The congressman said the “worst-case scenario” is the Adversarial Nation Hypothesis.

The theory proposes that UFOs could be advanced crafts built by geopolitical rivals such as the former USSR, China, or Russia.

The Adversarial Nation Hypothesis is popular among government officials. Some top government officials have admitted that fears that UFOs could be Soviet spy crafts spurred early secret retrieval programs.

Harvard professor Avi Loeb also acknowledged that UFOs might have originated from adversarial nations. He also suggested they might be U.S. experimental crafts undergoing development and testing under top-secret programs. In such cases, the government might deliberately promote theories of extraterrestrial origins through its channels to hide the truth.

However, Gallagher, the chairman of the House select committee on the Communist Party of China (CPC), said he was concerned that recent sightings could be products of secret Chinese weapons programs.

Congress is investigating UFO whistleblower claims

Congressman Gallagher’s comments follow reports of ongoing efforts in Congress to investigate the whistleblower claims.

In an interview with The Debrief, David Grusch, a 36-year-old former intelligence officer, claimed he learned from fellow intelligence officials that the government had retrieved alien technology from crash sites.

Grusch also told NewsNation that the government had obtained “non-human origin technical vehicles… that either landed or crashed.”

Senator Josh Hawley later said that Congressional briefings suggested the government has been downplaying sightings and withholding information about UFOs from the public.

Paranormal Papers reported that Senator Rubio said Grusch is not the only former top government agent who has come forward to discuss the alleged secret UFO retrieval program.

He said that others with first-hand knowledge have shared information.
