This week in North Carolina’s McDowell County, Bigfoot 911 based out of Marion reported a Sasquatch sighting.
The Sasquatch, or Bigfoot hunters, were out looking for the giant bi-pedal bearlike creature in the woods of western North Carolina. And it seems like they had a helluva night and were lucky to escape the night without injury.
Posting on their Facebook page, John E. Bruner from the group said they had the encounter at 11 p.m. on August 4 in a wooded area. Nobody was injured during the incident, but some rocks were thrown at them.
The team of Bigfoot searchers were using glow sticks at the time since they believed any Bigfoot in the area would be attracted to the lights.
Bruner then says he spotted one of the sticks moving, and when he turned on his headlamp, he spotted “a large bi-pedal animal covered in hair.”
The group then pursued the animal and had an even closer encounter where he describes having eye contact with a creature with a hairless black face and shaggy hair over the rest of its body:
Sasquatch was only 30 yards away from Bigfoot hunters
The creature was standing at the bottom of a hill, a mere 30 yards from the hunters, with its hand on a tree. Bruner said the tree had been broken about nine feet off the ground.
Speaking to The Charlotte Observer, he said: “I was able to see details of the creature…like the face and the hair was matted and stringy. The eyes were farther apart than human eyes.”
“It took one step into the woods, (then) I took off running toward where it went into the woods.”
The group tried to track the creature, but unfortunately, it gave them the slip. Disturbingly, Bruner claimed that as the group made their way out of the woods, they were continuously bombarded with rocks. They were unable to tell who or what was throwing the rocks.

Bigfoot sightings are common in North Carolina
This is not the first sighting of a Bigfoot in the area. According to The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), there have been a whopping 96 sightings in North Carolina.
In 2015, a tourist called Eric Walters claimed to have caught one on video while walking his dog, a brown Yorkshire Terrier called Zippy.
Zippy was unimpressed with the Sasquatch, and to their owner’s horror, the dog ran barking toward the mysterious creature. However, Walters credited Zippy with saving him as the barking caused the creature to move away.
In the video, a mysterious dark creature can be seen walking quickly and human-like away from Walters and the road toward the thicker vegetation.
Walters said he filmed the creature in Henderson County, but a vacation rental company said the video was shot near one of their cabins at 41 Gold Anchor Lane, off N.C. 9 south of Black Mountain, with one of their signs visible in the video.
Walters himself said at the time he was not sure if it was real or just an elaborate prank.
